IMA Plans National Rice Purchase to Support Food Programs
PANAMA, September 25, 2026 — The IMA said an approved budget credit will support the purchase of nationally produced rice for social programs.
Officials said the funds are intended to maintain rice availability through fairs, agro-distribution programs and Tiendas del Pueblo while supporting domestic producers.
