PANAMA CITY, November 1, 2026 — Panama’s weather outlook for Sunday calls for a mix of cloud, rain and possible thunderstorms, with the most changeable conditions expected during the afternoon and evening, according to reporting based on the Instituto de Meteorología e Hidrología de Panamá (IMHPA).

What the forecast says

Morning conditions were expected to be relatively stable across much of the Pacific side, although isolated rain and electrical activity remained possible around the Gulf of Panama. On the Caribbean side, the outlook included rain and storms over marine areas, with possible effects reaching parts of Guna Yala, Colón and Bocas del Toro.

For the afternoon, IMHPA identified the Costa Rica border area, southern Veraguas, southern Azuero, Panama, Darién and Emberá areas among the places where showers and thunderstorms could develop. Cloudier conditions were expected elsewhere on the Pacific side.

What changes later in the day

During the evening, the Pacific side was expected to become clearer in many places, but rain and stronger storms could approach the Gulf of Panama and Chiriquí. On the Caribbean coast, scattered rain was still possible in Bocas del Toro and Guna Yala.

The outlook also noted maximum temperatures broadly in the 25°C to 32°C range, north winds that could reach about 30 km/h, and generally favorable marine conditions. UV-B levels were expected to be moderate to high.

Practical reminder

Forecasts describe likely conditions, not a guarantee for every district. People travelling, attending outdoor activities or working near rivers, slopes and coastal areas should check official local updates and avoid relying on a single forecast issued earlier in the day.
