Russia shot down 337 Ukrainian drones launched into its territory overnight, 91 of them in the Moscow region, the Defense Ministry said in a statement Tuesday.
This is the largest attack against Russian territory since the Kremlin’s offensive against Ukraine began in February 2022. The action mainly targeted the Moscow region and the Kursk border region, where 126 drones were shot down, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Ukraine said Tuesday’s talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia began constructively to seek a partial ceasefire with Russia, shortly after the largest Ukrainian drone attack on Russian territory since the conflict began more than three years ago.

Both US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiga are taking part in the meeting in the Red Sea city of Jeddah.
The first session lasted just over three hours and was resumed in the afternoon, at a time when US President Donald Trump is pressuring Ukraine to end the war.
“The negotiations are proceeding normally, and many issues have been discussed,” a senior Ukrainian official said on condition of anonymity. This is the first high-level Ukrainian-US meeting since the heated confrontation between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on February 28.

Ukrainian officials are proposing a truce “in the air and at sea” with Russia, a senior official told AFP on Monday on condition of anonymity.
Since taking office, Trump has been putting pressure on Ukraine to end the war that began with Russia’s invasion of the country in February 2022.
“We are ready to do everything possible to achieve peace,” Ukrainian presidential office chief Andrii Yermak told reporters upon entering the negotiating room, asserting that the talks had begun “in a very constructive manner.”
The meeting comes just hours after Ukraine’s largest drone attack on Russia since the invasion began.
However, Russian authorities have said that the attack, which left three dead and 18 wounded, was a failure and announced that they had destroyed 343 drones, including 91 in the Moscow region and 126 in the Kursk region, bordering Ukraine, which is partially occupied by Ukrainian forces.
