SINAPROC Activates Provincial Emergency Operations Centre in Bocas del Toro
BOCAS DEL TORO, August 17, 2026 – The National Civil Protection System activated the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre of Bocas del Toro on Sunday, August 16, in response to the impacts recorded from rain at different points in the province, Metro Libre reported.
In a statement, the agency explained that the provincial centre is located at National Police facilities.
The centre maintains permanent monitoring of the situation and coordinates response actions to the reports that are generated.
According to emergency officer Alison Gonzalez, teams from the institution remain deployed in the province to assess reported situations and provide assistance to the population that could be affected.
SINAPROC recommended that residents stay alert to official channels and follow the instructions issued by authorities while the situation associated with the rain continues.
