Minsa Opens Clinic for HIV and Sexual Health Care in Las Tablas
LAS TABLAS, August 17, 2026 – The Ministry of Health said that, through the Los Santos Health Region, it has opened the Friendly Clinic for the Prevention and Comprehensive Care of Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV and AIDS, located at the Minsa-Capsi in Las Tablas, Metro Libre reported.
In a press note, Minsa said the new clinic strengthens prevention, timely diagnosis, treatment and comprehensive care.
It offers a space based on confidentiality, respect, dignity and non-discrimination, the ministry said.
Minsa said the initiative adds to international HIV response efforts, among them PEPFAR, the United States government programme created in 2003 that supports prevention, diagnosis, treatment and health system strengthening.
At the opening, Los Santos regional health director Antonio Gonzalez Gonzalez stressed the importance of accessible and timely services, promoting care that allows people to receive guidance without fear of stigma.
The event was attended by Los Santos governor Fernando Gonzalez, Johnny Castillo of the Minsa headquarters STI/HIV/AIDS section, along with other authorities, special guests and civil society representatives.

Why it matters
