Nito forms “Commission” to clarify Panama position on Ukraine. Should be easy decision.

President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, accompanied by the Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Gabriel Carrizo Jaén, met yesterday Thursday with the members of the High Level Commission (CAN) to analyze the impact on the country of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The head of the Executive addressed three issues: geopolitics, energy and the effects of the conflict on agricultural production, specifically on rice production and the cost of fertilizers.
The president indicated that talks are being held on the agricultural issue with producers and union leaders.
Cortizo Cohen noted that “Panama is a country that has always bet on diligence, dialogue, and peace; We must be clear about what our position should be in the face of this invasion.”
The president appointed Vice President Carrizo Jaén to head this Commission, which will work as a team to present recommendations and be able to make a prudent decision on Panama’s position in this war.
The High Level Commission (CAN) is made up of the Foreign Minister, Erika Mouynes; the government ministers, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo; Economy and Finance, Héctor Alexander; Commerce and Industries, Ramón Martínez; Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama; the deputy minister of MIDA, Carlo Rognoni; the advisory minister for the facilitation of private investment, José Alejandro Rojas-Pardini; Jorge Rivera Staff, Armando Fuentes, Saleh Asvat, Bejamín Colamarco, Nils Castro, Adolfo Ahumada and José Isabel Blandón Castillo.
