The president-elect, José Raúl Mulino, declared on the morning of this Thursday, May 30, that he has transmitted the message to the Electoral Tribunal (TE) that as far as he is concerned, all deputies must be seated in their seats.
Mulimo’s response is known after it was revealed that 30% of the elected representatives would not be there for the installation of the National Assembly.
A total of 22 deputies are affected by challenges, according to statements by Judge Eduardo Valdés Escoffery.
The figure exceeds the challenges that occurred in the 2019 general elections.
Valdés Escoffery also reflected this May 29 on the need to reform the voting system for deputies in multi-member circuits.
Mulino offered his statements before a meeting with the Vamos bench.
On the other hand, the president-elect said that he supported the statements of the elected deputy José Luis Varela, who declared that the National Assembly must act in governability with the Mulino administration and without blackmail.
He added that Varela has regained his senses and reiterated that this is what the meeting he will have with each of the deputies is about.
“There is no more for me, be very clear,” insisted the elected president.
