A reader praises the editorial voice and expresses concern about corruption and foreign influence in Panama. The message argues that these problems threaten the country’s progress and asks for scrutiny of political complicity and large-scale wrongdoing.

It also says Panama remains an attractive place for retirees and others seeking to live abroad. The note closes with a call to expose corruption that the writer believes is comparable to major scandals such as Odebrecht.

I feel you are the best “Editorialist” in the Republic of Panama.  An honest statement.

I have been living my “Golden Years” in your country and care very much about it.

There are rotting cancerous tumors within the infrastructure of Panama that are putting at risk all of the massive GOOD that has already been attained, as well as what CAN be attained in the FUTURE.

I am speaking in particular about the “FAKE” actors and WESTERNERS that arrive on PANAMA shores to re-invent themselves at the expense of the souls of the PANAMANIAN leaders and backhanded politicians that are complicit with them and allow it to happen.

PANAMA will never shed the “PANAMA PAPERS” and “LAUNDROMAT NARCO” reputation propogated under previous regimes, and blatantly displayed under Noriega.

PANAMA is the BEST option for retirees and those seeking out of country locales on the Eastern seaboard of the US.

Please review previous correspondence and simply use your skills to blow the lid off of massive corruption that rivals ODEBRECHT.

Just my humble opinion.

Saludos-
