Customs Seizes More Than $56,000 in Suspected Contraband in Chiriqui
PANAMA, August 30, 2026 — Panama’s Customs Authority says it seized merchandise valued at more than $56,000 during an operation in San Pablo Viejo, Chiriqui.

Inspectors reported finding 50 packs of cigarettes, 225 boxes of a product called Vital Honey, tobacco derivatives and other goods. A vehicle allegedly used to transport the cargo was also retained as authorities investigate suspected contraband and compliance with health and tax controls.
