Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Reported Off Costa Rica
PANAMA, September 10, 2026 — The University of Panama’s Institute of Geosciences reported a preliminary magnitude 4.6 earthquake off Costa Rica.
The preliminary report placed the event 138 kilometres west of Rio Sereno, Chiriqui, at a depth of 10 kilometres. No damage was reported in the initial information.
