Electoral Reform Package Submitted to Panama’s National Assembly
PANAMA, September 1, 2026 — Panama’s Electoral Tribunal has submitted two bills to the National Assembly covering changes to the Electoral Code and the configuration of electoral circuits.

The proposals were presented to the Assembly plenary by the tribunal’s presiding magistrate. One bill would modify national electoral rules, while the other would establish a new circuit map for the election of lawmakers.
