Colón has been marked by continuous acts of blood

In recent days the province of Colón has been shaken by several homicides, one of the most recent was that of the minor Yosuanis Williams, 14 years old, found dead inside a garbage tank on Calle 12 Justo Arosemena.

While this Thursday night, a member of the National Police was murdered in the village of Sabanitas, in the province of Colón. 

This is Raúl Martínez, a captain of the National Police, who had taken advantage of accumulated vacations to later retire.

Officials from the Homicide and Femicide section of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the scene to start the investigations of the case that occurred in the Sabanitas corregimiento.

This year, according to data from the Ministry of Public Security (Minseg), there have been 21 homicides from January to date, with a difference of less than 7 compared to last year’s period.

I’ve been in Panamá both working and retired for nearly 20 years as an Ex Pat. I’ve been once and will never go back. It makes Compton look like Disney World. All Ex Pats should be forewarned.

OP ED: Colon has been a shithole and armpit for an entirely too long time. These outer areas of Panama have needed to be addressed for decades (espescially BOCAS del TORO ) in order to truly maximize the “tourism” of PANAMA.  Honestly, NOBODY comes to Panama to hang out in Panama …
