PANAMA, September 7, 2026 — Environmental rangers and police detained two people following an illegal-hunting operation in the Quebrada La Cruz sector of Soberania National Park.

Authorities said two firearms, ammunition and wildlife were seized during the operation. MiAmbiente reiterated that hunting is prohibited in protected areas and noted that Panamanian law provides penalties for illegal hunting, capture or trade involving protected, threatened or closed-season species.
