Issues such as the irregular links between Manuel Antonio Noriega and Pablo Escobar, the misnamed Panama Papers, Waked Case, Odebrecht and Martinelli have made the name of Panama in the international arena negatively. The foregoing in the opinion of Nicolás Castro, consultant and advisor in matters of investments, capital markets, risks and regulatory compliance.

Castro is of the opinion that “Panama is one of the countries that has been hit the hardest by its name and almost immediately, because the problems and cases of possible corruption have not been called by its name.” Proof of it said, the Panama Papers when it should have been the “Papeles de Mossack Fonseca” and then you listen to other topics related to the country like Waked, Odebrecht and now Martinelli, so you are always listening to problems in the country and not such positive things and that it is what causes insecurity and that international regulators are more interested in the country adopting new rules. “
