Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday signed a decree on retaliatory sanctions against individuals and entities in response to their “hostile actions” over the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The measures will be taken in retaliation for “hostile actions by the United States, foreign states and international organizations… that were aimed at unlawfully depriving Russia, Russian citizens and Russian legal entities of property rights or restricting their rights.” of property” and with the aim of “protecting the national interests of Russia”, says the decree.
The document prohibits fulfilling obligations with sanctioned foreign persons and entities, as well as entering into contracts or carrying out transactions with them. In addition, Russia will prohibit the export of raw materials and products from Russia to those sanctioned.
The decree does not provide any details on which persons or entities may be affected by the measures. The Russian government was ordered to draw up a list of sanctioned people within 10 days.
