A group of foreign investors, led by Kuwaiti businesswoman Dana Al Salem, came to Panama to learn about the competitive advantages and benefits that the country offers.
The aim is to identify business opportunities in key areas such as renewable energy, real estate, film production and tourism, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Mici) said in a statement.
During their visit to the country, the foreign businessmen held meetings with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Julio Moltó, and the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Carlos Hoyos.
Moltó highlighted to the delegation the strategic position, logistical capacity and competitiveness of Panama as an ideal location for foreign investment.
“Panama is the undisputed leader in services in the region, thanks to our logistics capacity and the infrastructure of the Panama Canal, which naturally position us as the epicenter for investments between the Middle East and Latin America,” said Moltó.
Vice Minister Hoyos, for his part, highlighted the interest in supporting initiatives that promote Panamanian culture, such as the creation of culinary routes and green tourism, as well as establishing regional film production centers and improving local agriculture.
On this visit to Panama, Al Salem, global technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Clockwork and Yahoo! Europe, was accompanied by Matthias Hollwich, founder of HWKN, a collective of architects and innovators based in New York.
