Panama reported a new death from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, but three deaths from previous dates are updated for 8,329 accumulated deaths and a lethality that remains at 0.9%, according to the Epidemiology Department of the Ministry of Health. (Minsa).
The report indicates that 906,435 accumulated cases of covid-19 have been registered in the country to date, of which 2,080 are new positive cases today.
The total number of people recovered from the disease amounts to 882,821, of which 2,119 are newly recovered today. 10,907 tests were applied for a positivity of 19.0%.
Active cases total 15,285 throughout the country. 15,040 are in home isolation and 245 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 15,019 at home and 21 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 212 Ward and 33 in ICU.
The districts with the highest number of positive cases today are: Rufina Alfaro with 99 cases; Juan Diaz (Panama) 82 cases; Bella Vista (Panama) 76 cases; San Francisco (Panama) 72 cases and Bethania with 68 cases.
Operation Panavac-19 reinforces strategy
Meanwhile, the Operation Panavac-19 team continues its vaccination strategy with dose applications through vaccination programs in schools, institutions, companies, electoral circuits, public and private hospitals, and with visits to neighborhoods.
It was reported that, to date, the total doses applied in government institutions and private companies is 62,737 doses. On the part of the Minsa 25,436 doses have been applied and the Social Security Fund 37,301 doses.
Details the progress report of companies with more than 150 employees, the vaccination of 1,287 adults continues with a coverage of 87.1% of the companies.
Through the different strategies of Operation Panavac-19, vaccines against covid-19 and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) scheme continue to be applied in private hospitals that place adult vaccines and pediatric Pfizer, since 17 August 2021.
The report details that in the Vaccination days in Tú Barrio, a grand total of 70,461 doses have been applied to date, broken down as follows: 67,021 adult doses + 3,440 Pfizer pediatric doses.
Of the 67,021 adult doses applied, it is divided into: 2,762 first doses; 5,888 second doses; 92 third dose; 134 fourth dose; 39,491 first reinforcement and 18,654 second reinforcement. While pediatric vaccination is 3,440 doses distributed as follows: 2,157 first doses and 1,283 second doses.
In parallel, vaccination against covid-19 continues to be placed in all health centers, polycenters, polyclinics, Minsa-Capsi, national and regional hospitals of the Minsa and the CSS, as well as in private hospitals.
Vaccination report
On the other hand, the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) revealed that to date 8,358,729 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied; of them 3,482,802 first twos; 3,114,030 second dose and 1,616,875 first booster dose.
434,650 pediatricians have been placed in children between 5 and 11 years old; of which 280,167 have been in the first dose for a coverage of 87.7%.
Coverage in the population older than 5 years is 87.7% with a first dose; and with a second dose 78.4%. Coverage in the first booster dose from the age of 16 is 51.5%.
