China (and Saudi Arabia) biggest scumbags on planet.
China on Thursday defended its position on the conflict in Ukraine, saying it is “on the right side of history” after Washington warned that its refusal to sanction Russia could affect its relationship with other economies.
The Chinese diplomatic spokesman, Zhao Lijian, assured that his country is “objective and impartial” and that “the legitimate Russian security concerns must also be respected.”
His comments came a day after US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned that China could suffer consequences for not participating in Western sanctions against Russia.
Beijing has refused to condemn Moscow for the Ukraine invasion, seeking to balance support for its ally while avoiding violating Western sanctions against Russia.
His stance has China at loggerheads with the United States and its allies, which have applied harsh sanctions to pressure President Vladimir Putin to desist from the conflict.
Yellen called on China to “help end this war,” saying the Asian giant could see a decline in “the world’s attitude toward China and its willingness to embrace greater economic integration” if Beijing does not respond to calls from the West.
Zhao told a news conference that “time will show that China’s position is on the right side of history.”
