Rivers Monitored in Ngäbe-Buglé as Rain and Storm Alerts Continue
NGÄBE-BUGLÉ, August 9, 2026 – Civil protection personnel are monitoring swollen rivers in the Ñökribo region of the Ngäbe-Buglé comarca after recent rainfall, Metro Libre reported.
Óscar Santamaría, in charge of search and rescue for SINAPROC in the region, said rivers have risen but remain within their channels, according to the report.
Authorities are maintaining a prevention notice for rain and storms through August 11. A separate warning also remains in place for strong winds and waves.
