MAY offers many cultural events to showcase Panama. “Museum Month 2025”

These include exhibitions, talks, workshops, lectures, historical tours, guided tours, discussions, and musical performances.
The Portobelo Customs Museum, also known as the Museum of Afro-Panamanian Memory, presents the exhibition “The Legacy of Portobelo,” open until May 11 with free admission.
The Aguadulce Stella Sierra Regional Museum, also known as the Salt and Sugar Museum, hosts the Expo 4 Artes art exhibition, featuring works by Miguel Carrera, Néstor González, Rubén Darío Fajardo, and Juan Flores, open until May 18.
The History Museum will offer talks and drawing contests, while the Herrera Museum, also known as the Fabio Rodríguez Ríos Museum, located in Chitré, will host the “Chitréan Painters” exhibition, complemented by guided tours and lectures.
At the Veraguas Regional Museum, you can enjoy the Ubarraganá painting exhibition, curated by the Veraguas Chapter of the Association of Visual Artists, as well as discussions on art and culture. An exhibition of Coclé artists will be presented in Penonomé.
The El Caño Museum will offer workshops and talks entitled “Museums, Science, and Their Connections in a Continuously Developing Society,” led by Dr. Carlos Mayo.
The Nationality Museum will present a photography exhibition and organize guided tours for schools in La Villa de Los Santos, while the Belisario Porras Museum will offer guided tours for the general public.
The Manuel F. Zárate Museum, located in Guararé, will present “56 Years of Living History: Testimonies of a Construction with Identity,” curated by Manuel Córdoba and Miguel Vergara.
The El Nancito Petroglyph Archaeological Park in Chiriquí province will feature a mural on the subject of petroglyphs, accompanied by guided tours.
The Afro-Antillean Museum will offer a special workshop, “Yoyo Weaving,” focusing on textile traditions.
The Pausílipo Museum, the former country home of the illustrious Panamanian statesman Belisario Porras Barahona, will offer historical tours. Also at El Nancito, a mural with guided tours will be on display.
“The Ministry of Culture invites all citizens to participate in these activities, which seek to strengthen the connection between the community and its cultural heritage, promoting art, history, and national identity,” reads a press release from the agency.
These museums are part of the Museum Passport. Visit 45 cultural spaces, scan the QR code at each museum, and earn points to participate in cash prizes.
