The Panama Fire Department tries to put out a fire in some warehouses and workshops on Monday afternoon, April 17, on Seventh Street, in Río Abajo.

At 1:37 pm, the fire started on Seventh Street in Río Abajo, in a tire sales location, confirmed the Fire Department.

Subsequently, the fire spread to the Comasa company, so the job of the firefighters is to prevent it from spreading to other premises and homes in the area.

Reports indicate that there are three places affected by the fire. It was detailed that the premises affected by the incident house a workshop, a flea market and a tire store.

Firefighters from the Carrasquilla, Calidonia and Clayton stations are at the scene. There are 30 firefighters working in the area.

The firefighters had difficulties at the beginning of their work due to the lack of water in the area.

A tanker truck was sent to the area to provide support to the firefighters who are putting out the fire.

It was confirmed that there are no injuries among firefighters or residents of the sector.

On the other hand, the managers of the affected companies indicated that there are no injuries among their staff.

Due to the intensity of the flames and the smoke, the residents of the houses and buildings near the incident had to be evacuated.
