The construction of important drinking water supply projects advances the Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) at the national level, many of which are in the delivery phase and others with considerable physical progress.  

Among those that are close to being delivered is the project for the construction of the second module and rehabilitation of the first module of the drinking water treatment plant in the city of Santiago, province of Veraguas.

The work includes the operation and maintenance of both modules and increases the plant’s capacity by 15 million gallons of water per day, reinforcing the supply to the surrounding communities. 

This project will benefit the communities of Forestal, Punta Delgadita, Punta Dorada, Atalaya, Los Cerros (La Mata), San Antonio, Villa Elisa neighborhood, districts of La Peña and Los Algarrobos, as well as El Espino, Canto del Llano, Cañacillas, Via San Francisco, Martin Grande, Martincito, La Florecita, Santiago Cabecera and San Martin.

Another work that is about to be delivered is the project study, design and construction of the El Valle de Antón drinking water supply system, province of Coclé, built at an amount of $8,343,238.80, which will benefit a population of 4,381 inhabitants in the communities of Barriada Mariagar, Capirita, Caña Blanca, Las Mosas, El Hato, El Valle, La Compañía, La Pintada, La Reforma, Las Medinas, Los Millonarios, La India, Llano Grande, La Mesa, Quebrada Amarilla, La Amapola and Alto of the table.

In the same way, the expansion and improvement works to the Villa Darién water treatment plant are about to be delivered, a work executed at an amount of $35,991,186.07 that will improve the service to the residents of the communities of Arimae, Zapallal, Santa Fe, La Lomita , Quebrada Honda, La Cantera, Altos del Cristo, San Vicente, Piedra Candela, Nicanor, Arretí, Villa Darién, Metetí and Punuloso.

On the other hand, they also show remarkable progress: the design and construction of the sanitary sewer system of Puerto Mutis and Montijo, district of Montijo, province of Veraguas, with a physical progress of 100%, currently in the Operation and Maintenance Stage.

While the project study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the new module for the purification of water in the treatment plant, Federico Guardia Conte (Chilibre) maintains a 94% progress.

For its part, the study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the drinking water supply system, sanitary sewage system and wastewater treatment of Isla Contadora, province of Panama show a physical progress of 82.70%.

While the project study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Sabanitas II water treatment plant has a 65.12% progress.

The study, design, construction, operation and maintenance project for the Ing. José G. Rodríguez water treatment plant in Howard is 45% complete.

The study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewage system and wastewater treatment of the City of David and surroundings, province of Chiriquí, with a physical progress of 44.5%.

The project study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Gamboa water treatment plant with a percentage of physical progress of 43.9%.

According to Idaan, its technical staff follows up on these works so that they comply with the contractual requirements and the established dates in order to positively impact the different communities.
