PANAMA, September 6, 2026 — Public financing for Panama’s 2029 elections is set to continue being calculated at 1 percent of the state’s current revenue.
The issue will be considered as the electoral-reform package reaches the National Assembly. A reduction to 0.75 percent had been discussed during the reform process, but the current proposal retains the 1 percent calculation.
