Ricardo Martinelli, former president of the Republic, was transferred at dawn on Friday, December 21, to the Santo Tomás Hospital amid complaints from relatives, lawyers and supporters.

Martinelli is transferred to the National Hospital; will undergo medical exams
Martinelli – detained in El Renacer jail for the case of the punctures – was detained since Thursday, December 20, at the National Hospital , a private center, for the test of several medical examinations.

At about 1:30 am this Friday, agents of the National Police and the Penitentiary System proceeded to transfer the exmandatario.

Martinelli, who was accompanied by his wife Marta Linares de Martinelli and his lawyers, avoided the transfer on several occasions.

“I’m not leaving,” Martinelli shouted after getting up from the stretcher on which he was being transported.

Several minutes later, the agents managed to take him away.

Linares de Martinelli reported that her husband was preparing for “three exams”.

“They committed themselves, I would say that they are those of the Security Council, to bring him back [to the National Hospital] at 6:00 am so that he does not lose his exams,” he told NexTV .
