The president extended his message to each worker in the different sectors, including health, public safety and service.

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino , extended his congratulations on Labor Day , which is celebrated this May 1, 2025.

“ I want to congratulate every hardworking man and woman. Each one of you is a fundamental part of the engine that drives our country ,” the president commented in a video posted on the social network X.

Mulino extended his message to every worker in different sectors, such as healthcare.

For example, he commented on the “doctors, nurses, and technicians who made it possible for the Cancer Hospital and the Oncology Hospital to provide first-class services and thoughtfully reduce surgical backlogs for patients.”

Also to the workers who are restoring abandoned projects, such as the Colón Hospital, Bugaba, and Metetí.

In addition, the Ministry of Health pharmacy workers are selling the 60 medicines at affordable prices for seniors.

The president praised the workers who ended the “stagnation” at the Children’s Hospital , the fourth bridge over the Canal , the tunnel and Metro Line 3 , as well as the water treatment plants and wells to bring water to more Panamanian families.

He also mentioned those working to complete the Mario Bula stadium in Colón and the Rico Cedeño stadium in Chitré so that young people can develop their sports skills.

Regarding security, Mulino emphasized that law enforcement reduced illegal migration by 98% in one year and expelled 2,147 people.

On the other hand, it also included bus drivers who expand routes and frequencies, as well as teachers who teach students every day.

Likewise, the president did not forget the rural workers and producers who, through the IMA fair , or as they are now known, the village stores, have allowed families to have quality food at a good price.

From the service sector, he confessed that hotel, restaurant, and retail workers, as well as the country’s artists and cultural workers, are doing their best to continue growing tourism.

Mulino thanked the entire Panama Canal workforce for making the route grow in both efficiency and safety. He emphasized that “the Canal will remain Panamanian.”

He thanked the 1,800 young people who participated in the My First Job program.

“ To all Panamanians who are working and looking for work, and who will soon find it, I wish you a happy day ,” Mulino concluded .
