The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen met this Thursday with the CEO of the AXON company, Rick Smith, which is exploring the possibility of investing in Panama.

The AXON company is analyzing establishing a manufacturing and logistics operation for its products for Latin America in Panama.

In this sense, Smith indicated that the location of Panama would be of great advantage to manage the Latin American market.

“We are looking for places for the manufacture and better distribution of our products and Panama has a great projection in the region,” said Smith.

The Axon company is dedicated to the manufacture of products for the safety of people.

In this meeting, President Cortizo Cohen stated that Panama offers advantages and benefits for multinational companies like Axon to do business.

“This is the right place to distribute and manufacture,” the Panamanian president told investors.

Since 2007, Law 41 of August 24, 2007 was approved, which creates a special regime for the establishment of multinational companies. According to records, 180 of these companies operate in the country.

Present at the meeting were Juan Carlos Sosa, vice minister of Foreign Trade, as well as Alexander Polit, regional director of Axon, and Rodrigo Cruz, the brand’s local distributor.
