Carlos Antonio Brook, affectionately called ‘Calitín’, was happy enjoying a party in the company of his family last Saturday, but today, he is confined in a hospital, where he was pronounced brain dead.
This little boy who should be playing, learning to speak, enjoying life like any child, was a victim of the violence that is being experienced in Colón.
And it is that on Saturday, August 6, in a celebration held in the La Española event room located in Barrio Norte, Calle 7 Callejón Martínez and Meléndez avenue, province of Colón, there was a shooting attack.
The joy of the party was tarnished when a man arrived armed and shot without thinking about the innocents who remained in the place.
A man identified as Nathaniel Roberto Malcom, 27, fell injured to the ground and the little ‘Calitín’, 3 years old, also.
The cries of despair were heard throughout the site. The little boy was immediately transferred from the emergency room to the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, while the shooter fled after committing this act.
The little “Calitín” was in critical condition, so he was transferred to a hospital in Panama, while the adult was shot in the back and remains stable.
Caught
An individual who is linked to this event where Carlos Brook was seriously injured, was captured in the Altos de Los Lagos sector, through a search warrant.
The man will be brought before a guarantee judge in the next few hours.
This year in Colón, the National Police has achieved the apprehension of 101 people linked to the crime of homicide and attempted homicide and 52 crimes have been registered from January to date, according to data from this medium.
