Museum of Contemporary Art: History, art and community

The work  Formal Systems, Cycles and Pulsations  (2022) by Giana De Dier connects the story of her great-grandmother, who emigrated to Panama from Barbados, with that of thousands of Caribbean women who came to the isthmus during the construction of the canal.

La Mola Museum: The labyrinth

This immersive artistic experience allows you to experience the process of making molas through state-of-the-art technology, accompanied by the music of the Kami Burui (wind instrument) and Nasisi (a kind of maraca).

Panama Rainforest Discovery Center: The Observation Tower

This example of sustainable architecture of 32 meters high and 174 steps allows you to appreciate the strata of the tropical forest and its ecosystems. On a good day, you will be able to observe more than 25 species of birds!

Museo de la Merced: Witness to independence

This miter belonged to Fray Higinio Durán y Martell, Bishop of Panama. Fray Higinio signed the act of independence of November 28, 1821 by the Catholic Church supporting the Isthmian cause.

Biomuseo: A giant from the past

This fossil was discovered in Herrera in 1959. It was the skull of a giant sloth that lived in Panama 30 thousand years ago. It fed on plants and was so big that it could have looked out of a second-story window.

Canal Museum: She changed our history

This historic flag was carried on January 9, 1964 by students from the National Institute during their patriotic and peaceful march to the Canal Zone.

El Valle Visitor Center: Living in a Volcano

Although inactive for tens of thousands of years, there are traces of the great volcano that formed El Valle in its streams, mountains and spectacular waterfalls that you will see in this model.

Liberty Museum: Pain and Hope

The White Helmets lost Walid Britawi in 2007, who died at the age of 28 when a mine exploded. His helmet in the museum reminds us of his sacrifice and that of more than 200 volunteers who have saved some 100,000 lives in the Syrian war.

House Museum of the National Bank of Panama: A book with history

First accounting book of the National Bank of Panama (October 1904 – August 1910) largely handwritten by our first president, Manuel Amador Guerrero. The book was restored in 2021 by the National Archives of Panama.
