Transport carriers hit with sanctions for illegal rate hikes

Infrastructure

In the first three months of this year – from January to March – the  Transit and Ground Transportation Authority (ATTT) has imposed 245 sanctions for violating the prohibitions related to passengers or for refusing to take them.

And it is that the inspections carried out by personnel of that entity, as well as the denunciations of the users of the public transport, realize that several operators increase the rate in an arbitrary manner.

Spokespeople from the drivers assure that since 2001 there has been no adjustment to the rate and operating costs have increased.

Julio González, director of the ATTT, indicated that this is an illegal practice and that they will apply the corresponding sanctions.
