Varela jetsetting again, meets with UK Prime Minister May

At 10 Downing Street, in the city of London, the Panamanian President, Juan Carlos Varela , met Monday May 14 with the British Prime Minister, Theresa May .

May and Varela will discuss different topics to strengthen British and Panamanian relations, including the one related to the Panamanian commitment to fiscal transparency.

Prior to the meeting with the Prime Minister, Varela met with the Treasury Minister of the United Kingdom, Philip Hammond.

According to the president, Hammond acknowledged the commitment of the Republic of Panama in matters of fiscal transparency.

“We agree on the importance of continuing the fight against money laundering and organized crime,” said Varela through his Twitter account.

The Panamanian president before the meeting met in Cambridge with the Panamanian students of the Panama Bilingüe program.
