The former President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela , returned again this Monday, July 27, to the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

This, in order to expand his investigative statement in the process that follows him for the alleged commission of the crime of money laundering, related to the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht .

“We have come to comply with the authorities,” said Varela upon arrival at the prosecution.

In his last appearance at this judicial office (July 20), Varela assured that the investigation that is being followed in the Odebrecht case is not linked in any way with his government.

According to what he said, the Public Ministry investigates him, mainly, for the financing of the six political campaigns in which he has participated in his public life.
