Swimmer earns First GOLD medal for Panama in Central America and Caribbean Games

The swimmer Edgar Crespo , 29 years old, gave Panama its first gold medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games, which take place in Barranquilla (Colombia), to dominate the 50 meters chest.

With an explosive start and a rhythm that did not go down, the Panamanian surprised the favorites Jorge Murillo, from Colombia, and Miguel De Lara, from Mexico, to stay with the golden medal with a time of 27.56 seconds. This record represents a new record for the games.

This is the second medal of Panama in this regional competition, after the silver medal reached by taekwondo athlete Carolena Carstens in the category of .53 kg.
