EDITORIAL FOLLOW UP: Ex-Pats also to BEWARE of LOCAL “FIXERS”. FRAUD is a HANDS ON ISSUE

It bears mentioning that the “info@panamanowonline.com” email has been inundated with quite a few replies and questions surrounding the reader editorial that was posted this week.

Also received was a call from, whom I now consider a friend, “Big Anthony”. You may remember him from an interview I had with him initially when I first went to Bocas to see Buddy’s squatted on hectares, and then again when he was working to shut down a shady lawyer in Pedasi who was LITERALLY scamming his own client.

As was mentioned in the reply to Rick on the post, the legal battles can be costly and time consuming. That is only taking it from the US perspective. Tackling these issues in Panama is truly a whole different world. Many come to find out that in Panama there are NOT notary agents literally on every corner. They are assigned and placed and recognized as the ONLY ones in the country. Then there are items that require Apostle seals on top of that. It can make many heads spin.

What Anthony reiterated to me is that the stealing is literally the 1st step of a far more reaching scam in which “fixers” and “lawyers” come and swoop in claiming to be able to rectify and help, only to just become another player in FLEECING people of money.

What I am doing now is speaking with him and others that have actually PREVAILED in these issues and I will then share this information with all of you visiting the site.

DO NOT blindly agree to anything with a Panamanian attorney. ESPECIALLY as it relates to Bocas. DO NOT fall prey to people who claim to “know people” and they can expedite the problem to conclusion. That is a Pandora’s Box to never open. One that will leave you broke. The fact is there IS INDEED a clear and PROVEN path to making things better, and a few reputable firms and people that can.

Listen readers, this site spends a great deal of time illustrating the blatant LARCENY, BRIBES, GREED, PAYOFFS, and THEFT that occurs in Panama at even the highest levels of power.

THE POPULAR PRESIDENT of the LAST DECADE is in El Renacer Prison! ODEBRECHT, shady deals, …..I have spent a year shining a light on it. But for EX-PATS, it is indeed LAND and REAL ESTATE that is the number one culprit. And it is NOT merely Panamanians taking advantage, quite the opposite. You have slimy EX-PATS taking advantage of the UNKNOWING. Like I said, if someone says they are a “fixer”, I am going to make sure they can openly show me just what they indeed have “fixed”. In Anthony’s case, I’m already sold. This is a good guy, helping good people.

I hope to learn more and get back to you.

Saludos-

“JB”
