The cutting permits are given to indigenous people, but the operation is financed by Chinese businessmen. From January to June, the export of wood to China increased by 27%, totaling $ 37 million, the main export destination. Community spokespersons denounce that they do not perceive the benefits and request another type of development.

The Center for Studies and Social Action of Panama , and the Center for Environmental Advocacy , requested to review permits and regulations, a request that even officials of the entity made.
