The Summit Municipal Park has been named the nursery and flora bank of Panama City. This was announced by the Mayor of Panama, through a statement issued by the Environmental Management Department.
According to the organization, the project marks the beginning of a new era of urban greening, with the aim of “transforming every corner of the city into a fresher, healthier and more lively space.”
“With this initiative, we are committed to filling our parks, avenues and public spaces with trees and vegetation, creating more pleasant and sustainable environments for everyone. Planting new trees will not only beautify the city, but will also contribute to reducing high temperatures, improving air quality and providing shaded areas that encourage recreation and citizen well-being,” he explained.

The Mayor’s Director of Environmental Management stressed that they are “planting a greener, fresher and more vibrant future. Each tree that grows in Summit Park represents a seed of hope for a more resilient city in harmony with nature.”
This project represents a key part of the Greening Plan for Panama City, which aims to consolidate a sustainable urban ecosystem through the massive planting of trees and the restoration of natural spaces.
