Consumer complaints surpass 14 million dollars in the Acodeco

Consumers affected by different reasons in the commercialization of goods and services presented 894 complaints for a total amount of $ 14,940,163.00, to the Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition Authority (Acodeco) during the first quarter of this year.

The administrator, Oscar García, said that the attention of the complaints presented by consumers is one of the most important tasks carried out by this institution, which is why it is constantly seeking to improve this service. Recommended to keep all your documents, such as invoices, warranty certificates, among others, because they are the evidence to present in any subsequent claim.

There were 62 activities complained of, headed by real estate agents (176 complaints), cell phone sales (92 cases), electrical appliances (76), car agencies (60), department stores (58), among others.

The main reason for these complaints filed by different consumers is the breach of warranty with 347, with a total value of $ 1,051,136.00. However, due to abusive clauses there were 95 cases with a greater amount of money ($ 10,447,524).

There are 22 reasons for the complaints presented, which also include the lack of information, breach of service and contracts, custody of the property, lack of commercial information, cancellation of the contract, among others.
