Interpol Panama Extradites Alleged Drug-Trafficking Suspect from Colombia
PANAMA CITY, August 13, 2026 – Interpol Panama extradited Jorge Nestor Sanchez Rodriguez, known as Comanche, from Colombia to Panama, the National Police said in a report cited by Metro Libre.
Authorities identify Sanchez Rodriguez as a suspect linked to alleged drug trafficking and money laundering.
Police said he was captured in Medellin in January 2025 while using a false identity.
He had been listed among the most wanted individuals tied to Operation Jerico, with a $30,000 reward offered for information leading to his capture, according to the report.
After arriving at Tocumen International Airport, he was transferred to DIJ headquarters and placed at the disposal of competent authorities.
Investigators allege that Sanchez Rodriguez had links to local gangs and the Gulf Clan and was involved in coordinating boats carrying cocaine from Colombia into Panama.
Authorities also allege that front companies were used as part of a money-laundering scheme.
