Panama Immigration Intervenes in Streets and Borders Looking for Illegal Foreigners

Panama’s National Migration Service (SNM) has launched a nationwide immigration enforcement operation targeting individuals who are residing in the country illegally. Joint teams carried out inspections across eight provinces and key border areas, checking immigration documents at public spaces, transport hubs, commercial districts, and workplaces.

According to authorities, the operation aims to strengthen border security, identify immigration violations, and ensure compliance with Panama’s immigration laws. Officials confirmed that individuals found without valid documentation may face administrative proceedings, detention, or deportation in accordance with national legislation.

The government stated that these inspections will continue as part of an ongoing strategy to improve migration control while maintaining public security. Authorities also encouraged all foreign nationals living in Panama to ensure their residency permits and immigration documents remain valid and up to date.
