Nicolás Maduro is re-elected in Venezuela amid controversy
This is how the president of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela , pronounced himself on Monday, May 21, one day after Maduro was reelected in office until 2025.

Yesterday, when the presidential elections were held in the South American country, Panama ignored the results . According to Varela, it was not an open and democratic competition “with all sectors of the opposition.”

The president added that, as long as the current constitutional period of President Maduro is maintained, “Panama will try to maintain a constructive relationship, seeking dialogue, peace and reconciliation.”
