The lawyer Mauricio Cort, key witness who would provide evidence of the final destination of bribes paid by Odebrecht – “is telling the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office the way, time and place of how all the facts occurred.”
In addition, the defendant in the Odebrecht case has given “key information about the participation of him and others in the facts investigated” and has stated “his willingness to collaborate with the Public Ministry.”
This is how judicial sources summed up the two days of the statement made by Attorney Cort, who turned himself in last Friday 23rd November, after returning from Greece, before the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Yesterday, Cort continued to testify before prosecutor Zuleyka Moore. He arrived early at the Avesa building, accompanied by his lawyer, Irving Bonilla. He left at noon, returned at 3:30 p.m. and left the prosecutor’s office at 7:15 p.m.
“I have nothing to say; everything is clarified – in the office of the public prosecutor; I do not have any more statements, “Cort told the media that were waiting for him when he left.
Cort, who would negotiate a penalty agreement with the prosecution, would provide documentary evidence of the final destination of at least $ 6.6 million that he received from a company called Aeon Group, which belongs to Odebrecht’s Structured Operations sector.
