Only 9 inspectors have the Ministry of Environment in their regional Darien to monitor more than 115 thousand hectares under forest management in the area, so indigenous loggers denounce the lack of supervision.

The cutting permits are given to indigenous people, but the operation is financed by Chinese businessmen. From January to June, the export of wood to China increased by 27%, totaling $ 37 million, the main export destination. Community spokespersons denounce that they do not perceive the benefits and request another type of development.

The Center for Studies and Social Action of Panama , and the Center for Environmental Advocacy , requested to review permits and regulations, a request that even officials of the entity made.
