Panama received this Thursday a high-level delegation of companies from Saudi Arabia to present the advantages of investing in the country.

The purpose of the meeting was to convince visiting Saudi companies that Panama is the right place to establish their presence in Latin America and present them with potential investment opportunities in the country, the Presidency reported in a statement.

The Saudi delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Investor Relations, Badr Albadr, and the representative for the Americas of the Saudi Ministry of Investments, Abdulrahman T. Bakir. Together with them were businessmen from the logistics, agribusiness, petrochemical and energy sectors, among others.

For the national representation were the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo; the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Federico Alfaro; Chancellor Janaina Tewaney; Minister Counselor for Facilitation of Private Investment, José Alejandro Rojas.

The general administrator in charge of PROPANAMA, Ortiz de Zevallos, commented that there is great potential for synergy and collaboration between Panama and Saudi Arabia. “Both countries share a strong commitment to promoting economic growth and development, and there are significant opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships,” he said.
