Robert Duvall, acclaimed actor of iconic films such as Apocalypse Now and The Godfather , died on the night of Sunday, February 15, at the age of 95 at his home in Middleburg, Virginia, surrounded by his family, his widow, Luciana Duvall, reported on Monday, February 16.
“ Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, dear friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort. To the world, he was an Oscar-winning actor, director, and storyteller. To me, he was everything, ” Duvall’s wife wrote in a heartfelt statement on Facebook.
Seven-time Oscar nominee and winner for his portrayal of a homeless ex- country singer in 1983’s Tender Mercies , the actor had an extensive career first on stage, then on television and later in film, where his roles made history in cinema.
