PANAMA’s whistleblowers at Comptroller reveal the “palm greasing” still all over Politics.

Political FRAUD
The Comptroller’s Office published for the first time details of officials hired by the Assembly, revealing how much they earn, which office they work in, and for how long.

According to the National Assembly ‘s payroll , published today by the Comptroller General’s Office , the representative with the highest monthly payroll expenditure is:

1. Benicio Robinson of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) , with a total salary of $261,225.

2. Marcos Castillero , also from the PRD, with a total salary of $225,282 , according to his payroll.

3. Jaime Vargas of the PRD with a payroll that reaches $164,120.

4. Crispiano Adames of the PRD, with a total salary of $122,825

5. Dana Castañeda , from Democratic Change (CD) , with a payroll amounting to $120,675.

The Comptroller General’s Office published the complete list of the Legislative Branch for the first time, marking an unprecedented step in institutional transparency.

This is in response to investigations conducted by La Estrella de Panamá into the payroll of this public institution and the irregularities found therein.

Special Investigation | Castillero’s Secret and Expensive Payroll

The information, available on its official website, includes the names, positions, salaries, assigned offices, and length of service of all officials and collaborators hired by the National Assembly.

This measure responds to journalistic investigations by La Estrella de Panamá , which revealed possible irregularities in the hiring of personnel, and also to audits conducted by the Comptroller’s Office.

The official website also created a space for citizens to report potential cases of cashback (unfair salary reimbursement).

Meanwhile, some lawmakers and officials have requested that the privacy of collaborators be respected and that judgments be avoided before the official investigations are concluded.
