President José Raúl Mulino met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to strengthen bilateral relations. Mulino expressed Panama’s support for achieving lasting peace in Ukraine and invited the country to join the Panama Canal Neutrality Treaty.
For his part, Zelensky thanked Panama for its support and extended an invitation to Mulino to visit Ukraine. The two leaders discussed the humanitarian crisis in the country, and Mulino invited Zelensky to participate in the Second Latin American Economic Forum and the EXPOCOMER trade fair , to be held in Panama in 2026.
Mulino also highlighted that Ukraine will open an embassy in Panama later this year, further strengthening the seven existing agreements and the six currently under negotiation between the two nations.
