Government Minister Dinoska Montalvo has requested that the National Public Services Authority (ASEP) suspend internet and telephone services throughout the province of Bocas del Toro.

This measure follows the National Government ‘s announcement that it was declaring a state of emergency and suspending constitutional guarantees for five days to restore public order in the province of Bocas del Toro.

“Based on the provisions of the aforementioned Cabinet Decree No. 27 of 2025 and in response to the request made in Note No. MG·OAL-01477-2025, it is appropriate to immediately suspend the provision of public internet service (No. 211) in the province of Bocas del Toro, during the validity of the declared state of emergency,” states the statement released by ASEP on Friday night.
