Ortega protests turn deadly in Nicaragua

Eight dead in Managua and two in Estelí left the attack of armed groups to demonstrations that took place this Wednesday, May 30, in Nicaragua against the government of President Daniel Ortega .

According to the reports of the newspaper La Prensa of Nicaragua, the demonstrators were killed using “precision weapons and shots in the head”.

Other Nicaraguan media reported that there were dozens of wounded, who were treated in hospitals and health posts throughout Nicaragua.

While the American chain Univisión reported that the demonstrations left 11 dead and 40 injured.

The executive secretary of the Permanent Commission of Human Rights, Marcos Carmona , told La Prensa de Nicaragua that in a first report from hospital sources there are at least 4 people killed and 53 injured in the city of Managua.
