How much death truly associated to the completion of the WORLD CUP???

"JB"

For those that are soccer fans (like me), there is an interesting documentary on NETFLIX about the awarding of the World Cop of 2022 to QATAR. Indeed it was an odd and curious choice. Much ado of fraud and kickbacks started the investigations into FIFA.  Now other groups are investigating the safety involved in the construction of all these new stadiums and the TRUE number of deaths associated.

The controversy is served. The choice of Qatar as the World Cup venue for 2022 has been punctuated by criticism regarding human rights, homosexuality, and a final controversy over the number of deaths in the construction of the stadiums.

According to information revealed by the British newspaper The Guardian, at least “6,500 workers” who were involved in the construction of the stadiums for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup have lost their lives since the projects began, that is, since 2010.

The outbreak of this information reached the Qatari high command, for which the executive head of the committee that organizes the World Cup, Nasser Al-Khatel, told the CNN television network that: “The number of fatalities in the World Cup stadiums World that are related to work are three. There are just over 30 fatalities that are not related to work…this is something that needs to be made absolutely clear.”

ILO prepares report on inconsistencies

After the statements of the executive head, Al-Khatel, the International Labor Organization (ILO) assured that “there are several gaps” in the version provided by Al-Khatel, for which it prepared a report citing inconsistencies and faults that allegedly committed the Qatari government.

According to the report, in 2020 alone, 50 workers lost their lives after suffering “fatal occupational injuries.” In this same sense, more than “37,000 people who were in the constructions suffered one or more mild to moderate accidents.”

“Falls from height and traffic accidents are the leading causes of injury or death, followed by falling objects. The majority suffered migrant workers from Bangladesh, India and Nepal, mainly in the construction industry,” the ILO said in a statement.

After the ILO statement, the Qatari Ministry of Labor categorically defended Al-Khatel’s position and issued a statement highlighting that the figures shown by the different media are “misleading.”

“The figures reported in the media on deaths of migrant workers have been grossly misleading. The government has been transparent about the health of our foreign population and, in fact, mortality levels in Qatar are on par with the broader demographics globally. Still, improving the health and well-being of foreign workers remains a priority.”

The British newspaper The Guardian explains that the deaths (6,500) were caused by the “serious mistreatment received by the workers and the infernal temperatures to which they were subjected.” It details that up to 95% of the workforce was migrant.

Economic support for migrants

The human rights group, Amnesty International, requested in May this year from the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) a sum of “$440 million to compensate migrants” who suffered violations of their human rights during the construction of the facilities. globalists.

“With six months to go before the opening of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, hundreds of thousands of migrant workers have not received adequate redress, including financial compensation, for the serious labor abuses they suffered during the construction and maintenance of the facilities. essential infrastructure for the preparation and hosting of the World Cup in Qatar,” Amnesty International said in a letter sent to FIFA President Gianni Infantino in May.

In its response, FIFA said that “in the report there is a wide range of public infrastructures not specific to the World Cup that we must also investigate.”
