At least 51% of Panamanian citizens have a very good or good image of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, while 41% believe that the situation in the country is better and much better than last year.

This was the result of the Gismo Services, SA survey, which will be published monthly through La Estrella de Panamá.

In the survey, 1,800 people from all the provinces plus the Ngabe Bugle region were consulted and it was carried out from March 5 to 10, 2022, using a stratified random sample.

To the question about whether the respondent has a very good, good, bad or very bad image of President Cortizo Cohen, 51% of Panamanian citizens have a very good and good image of the president, that is, 39% has a good image and 12% a very good image. 25% said it was bad, 15% very bad and 9% did not know or did not answer.

While 4 out of 10 Panamanians consider that the general situation of the country is good and very good, compared to last year, after being asked if they consider that the general situation of Panama is better, the same or worse than last year. past.

In this regard, 34% of those surveyed consider that the situation at this time is better than last year, 26% say that it is worse, 22% indicate that it is the same, 11% say that it is worse, and 7% assure that better.

In relation to the work carried out by the Government, a large majority (80%) approve of the vaccination campaign against covid-19 (Panavac-19), while a little more than 6 out of 10 Panamanians approve of the work of the president and his cabinet in Support for agriculture (65%), Social Programs (63%), Security (62%).

Meanwhile, 54% support the management that is being done for sports and 49% endorse what has been done in terms of education and job creation.

Regarding the development of infrastructure, only 35% of those surveyed approved this management and 60% disapproved, 5% did not know or did not answer.

In tourism, 29% approved the current government management and 60% disapproved, 11% do not know or did not respond.

Regarding the fight against corruption, 42% endorsed the management carried out by President Cortizo and his Cabinet, 53% disapproved and 5% either did not know or did not respond.

On the other hand, the majority of Panamanians (90%) consider that returning to classes in person is positive and 84% of those surveyed believe the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority (AAUD) is not doing a good job with garbage collection.

Regarding the opinion to reactivate the economy by the current government, 35% feel safe, 38% happy and 27% annoyed.
