Panama reached 24,129 active cases of covid-19 this Monday, after 1,799 new positive cases were detected and 8,403 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, which translates into a positivity of 21.4%.

Juan Díaz, Bethania, San Francisco, Rufina Alfaro and Penonomé are the areas that register the highest number of cases of covid-19 for this Monday.

The report from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) revealed that in the last few hours there was one death, for a cumulative total of 8,206 and a lethality of 1.0%.

In the country, there are 810,242 accumulated cases of covid-19 and 777,907 people recovered.

Of the total active cases, 23,921 are in home isolation and 208 hospitalized.

Those who are in isolation are divided into 23,874 at home and 47 in hotels, and those hospitalized add up to 176 in the ward and 32 in the ICU.

First doses reach 87.5% of the population

On the other hand, according to the report of the Expanded Vaccination Program (PAI), at the national level, the coverage of the first doses against covid-19 reaches 87.5% to date, while the second doses have a coverage of 77.9%. and the booster dose maintains a percentage of 49.3%.

Regarding pediatric doses in children from 5 years of age, according to the PAI, there is a coverage of 53.4% ​​and 52.4% in second doses.

For this Monday, in addition, the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) reported that 8,158,376 doses against covid-19 have been applied in Panama.

Of this total, according to the EPI report, 3,472,696 first doses; 3,093,785 second doses, 11,175 thirds, 2,7369 fourths, 1,549,301 booster 1 and 28,650 booster 2.

Of the pediatric doses for the population between 5 and 11 years of age, 419,835 have been applied.

Minsa reiterates importance of reinforcement against covid-19

The Ministry of Health also reiterated the call to the population to attend the vaccination day established by Operation PanavaC-19 throughout the country, especially to receive the first booster dose (third dose) in order to comply with the scheme. complete.

For this week, Operation PanavaC-19 will carry out an extensive vaccination day in circuits 4-1, 4-2, 8-5 and 8-6, for the population over 12 years of age.

Likewise, it is reiterated that vaccination in shopping centers will continue on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The vaccination program in the neighborhood will also continue this week, at the Albrook Terminal, the 5 de Mayo Metro Station, paid areas, the San Miguelito Station and on Central Avenue.

This initiative will be taken in the district of Curundú, where the Minsa nursing team will go to the multifamily, Nueva Vida project, Barraca la Islita, as well as in the Nuevo Curundú Project, Transportation and Workshops.
